IN THE HIGH COURT OF UTTARAKHAND AT NAINITAL

WPSS No. 1247 of 2010

Dalbir Singh Tamta

……..Petitioner

Versus

The Union of India and others

Present: Mr. H. C. Lohani, Advocate for the petitioner.

…..Respondents.

Hon’ble Sudhanshu Dhulia, J(Oral)

Heard Mr. H. C. Lohani, Advocate for the petitioner.

The only prayer in the writ petition made by the petitioner before this Court is that a statutory appeal filed by him before the Postmaster General Dehradun Uttarakhand, Dehradun is pending since 30.7.2010. Learned counsel for the petitioner prays that a direction be given to respondent no.2 to decide the appeal expeditiously. Prayer seems to be innocuous.

The respondent no.2 Postmaster General Dehradun, Uttarakhand is, therefore, directed to dispose of the appeal expeditiously after giving proper opportunity of hearing to the parties, preferably within a period of three months from the date a certified copy of this order is produced before him.

With the aforesaid direction, the instant writ petition is disposed of.

No order as to costs.
