The petitioners seek for protection for life and liberty onthe ground that they have performed their marriage voluntarily beingadults on 28.12.2011, but they are apprehensive of being harassedby their respective relatives. The petitioners' complaint is that theyhave sought for protection through representation to the SeniorSuperintendent of Police (Rural), Jalandhar. The issue has beendealt with by the Bench of this Court inPardeep Kumar Vs. State ofHaryana 2008(2) ILR 62. In terms of the said judgment, the SeniorSuperintendent of Police (Rural), Jalandhar shall afford suchprotection as the law permits.
