AWARD
MACA 1066/2006 is filed by the Oriental Insurance Companychallenging the award amount in OPMV 2964/2000. MACA 1377/2006 isfiled by the claimants for enhancement of compensation. After elaboratediscussion, on the basis of the S.S.L.C book , the original of which wasperused by the counsel for the insurance company, parties agreed that thecompleted age of the victim at the time of death was only 54 and therefore,multiplier should have been 11 instead of 10 taken by the tribunal. On thisbasis, the amount is re-calculated and the claim and the compensation onaccount of loss of dependency would be a sum of Rs. 8,80,000/- instead ofRs. 8,00,000/- granted, and parties therefore agree that the award will standmodified and the claimants shall be entitled to receive the sum ofRs. 9,70,000/- 0(Rupees Nine Lakh Seventy Thousand Only) together with MACA. No. 1377 of 2006 and 1066 of 2006
interest at the rate of 7.5% per annum from the date of application. Bothcases stand settled as above.
