The complaint of the petitioner is that her application forcorrection of the name of her son from “Danu Sabu” to “SanuSabu” has not been considered or disposed of so far. Accordingto the petitioner, correction of the Birth Certificate of the child isrequired for filling up his personal details in his S.S.L.C book.He is now studying in the Std.X. As per interim order dated13.12.2010, this court had directed the petitioner to obtain aconsent letter from the father of the child, who is presentlyemployed abroad, attested by an officer of the Indian Consulatein the country where he is employed. It is submitted by thepetitioner that the certificate, as required by the interim orderhas also been produced by her. A copy of the affidavit of thefather has been produced in these proceedings, marked Ext.P8.Therefore, according to the petitioner, there is no otherimpediment in granting the request in Ext.P6. In view of theabove, she seeks appropriate directions for an expeditious disposal of Ext.P6.

2. Mr.Subash Chand, Advocate, who appears for therespondents assures me that the request in Ext.P6 would beconsidered and appropriate orders would be passed withoutfurther delay.

3. In the above circumstances, this writ petition isdisposed of directing the 2[nd] respondent to consider the requestof the petitioner, evidenced herein by Ext.P6, in accordance withlaw and to pass appropriate orders thereon, as expeditiously aspossible and at any rate, within one week of receipt of a copy ofthis judgement. The petitioner shall produce a copy of thisjudgment before the 2[nd] respondent for prompt compliance.
