JUDGMENT

Petitioner's vehicle has been detained by the respondentson allegations of transport of sand in violation of the KeralaProtection of River Banks and Regulation of Removal of SandAct, 2001. He submits that although the vehicle was seized on24.12.2007, no final orders have been passed by the 3[rd]respondent as required under the Act and Rules. He seeksinterim custody of the vehicle pending final orders by the DistrictCollector. I am of opinion that the District Collector shoulddispose of the matter finally expeditiously.

In the above circumstances this writ petition is disposed ofdirecting the 3[rd] respondent to pass final orders pursuant toExt.P2 Seizure as expeditiously as possible, at any rate, within 7days from the date of receipt of a copy of this judgment.
