WPMB 821 of 2002

Hon.Irshad Hussain, J. Hon. M.M. Ghildiyal,J.

Heard Sri T.A. Khan, learned counsel for the petitioner and learned Addl. C.S.C.

The grievance of the petitioner is that his application for the grant of Arms Licence has not been disposed of despite the fact that the same is pending since 1999 and another application was moved on 2002. The petitioner can not claim grant of licence as of right. However, the authority is obliged to dispose of application according to Arms Act and rules made thereunder.

We, therefore, direct the District Magistrate, Udham Singh Nagar that the application of the petitioner pending before him the disposed of expeditiously preferably within a period of three months. With this the petition is disposed of.
