This is a petition under Section 482 of the Code of Criminal Procedure for issuance of directions to the officials respondents to protect the life and liberty of the petitioners at the hands of private respondent.
Photocopy of Date of Birth (Matriculation) certificate of petitioner No.2 – Sandeep Kaur, is taken on record.
Notice to official respondents only at this stage.
On the asking of Court, Mr. Pawan Sharda, Senior Deputy Advocate General, Punjab, accepts notice on behalf of respondent - State. Copy of the petition be supplied to him during the course of the day.
The present petition is disposed of with a direction to respondent No.2 – Senior Superintendent of Police, Sri Muktsar Sahib, to look into the grievances of the petitioners unfolded by them in their representation/application Crl. Misc. No.M-64818 of 2018 [2]
dated 30.12.2018 (Annexure P-4) and if found necessary, take appropriate measures in accordance with law.
However, this order shall not be construed as a measure to treat the marriage of the petitioners valid or legal.
