This is a taken-up matter upon a petition dated 21.11.2006 sentby the petitioner Pramila Mallick alleging that his daughter Basantiwas given in marriage to one Sri Braja Kishore Mohanty working asSergeant in Air Force Station, Hyderabad. He was demandingadditional dowry and harassing his daughter. While so on 29.10.2006he received information that his daughter had committed suicide byhanging. On which he lodged a complaint, which was registered asCrime No.222 of 2006. However, he apprehends that the police maynot investigate properly and requests to direct C.B.I. to take upinvestigation.

2) The 1[st] respondent the Station House Officer filed counter, interalia stating that on the complaint above referred, a case in CrimeNo.222 of 2006 under Section 174 Cr.P.C. was registered and lateraltered one under Section 306 IPC.
