ORDER:

This Writ Petition is filed for a mandamus to set-asideproceedings in Case No.A7/859/CS/2014, dated 12-12-2014 of respondent No.2 whereby he has rejected thepetitioner’s objections and declined to release the seizedstock comprising 400 bags of rice (275 Quintals), 80 sugarpackets (4.40 Quintals), 27 bags of wheat etc.

After hearing the learned counsel for both the parties, Iam of the opinion that it would be in the interests of justicethat the seized stock is not sold pending finalization of theproceedings under Section 6-A of the EssentialCommodities Act, 1955 (for short "the Act").

The Writ Petition is accordingly disposed of with thedirection to respondent No.2 not to sell the seized stock tillfinalization of the proceedings under Section 6-A of the Act. He is also directed to conclude the proceedings and pass afinal order within two months from the date of receipt of thisorder.

As a sequel to the disposal of the Writ Petition, WPMPNo.48975 of 2014 is disposed of as infructuous.
