ORDER:

The grievance of the petitioner in this writ petition is that in herpassport bearing No.A9849151 the entries relating to the date of birthand gender were incorrectly entered. The petitioner states that hercorrect date of birth is 23.04.1983 and she being a female it waswrongly mentioned as male. The petitioner states that when sheapproached the respondent, the respondent declined to receive theapplication.

I am not inclined to express any opinion on the merits of thecase. Suffice it to issue proper directions to permit the petitioner tomake an application to the respondent seeking appropriate orders.

In the circumstances, the petitioner is permitted to submit anapplication to the respondent in the prescribed manner and therespondent is directed to receive the said application and passappropriate orders according to law and the guidelines governing thefield, as early as possible, preferably within a period of four weeks fromthe date of receipt of such application.
