O R D E R:

The petitioner claims that himself and 19 others, being the members ofthe Fishermen Cooperative Society, the 7[th] respondent herein, submittedseveral representations to respondents 1 to 6, alleging that the President of theSociety is acting detrimental, to the interests of the members and requestingthem to conduct enquiry. He complains that no action has been taken on therepresentations and seeks appropriate directions in this regard.

Heard the learned counsel for the petitioner and learned Government Pleaderfor Fisheries.

After obtaining instructions from the fifth respondent, the learned GovernmentPleader submits that the seventh respondent paid the lease amount on 26-12-2005 and that necessary orders enabling it to carry on fishing operations wereissued on 28-12-2005.

The grievance of the petitioner is that the President of the Society is actingdetrimental to the interest of the members and are not being permitted toparticipate in fishing operations.

Inasmuch as the orders enabling the seventh respondent to carry on fishingoperations, were issued only on 28-12-2005, the petitioner and other memberscan certainly participate in the operations. The fifth respondent shall ensurethat interests of the members of the society are adequately protected and thatthey participate, in fishing operations.

The writ petition is accordingly disposed of. There shall be no order as to costs.
