1. Heard Shri Veerendra Kumar Tiwari, the learned counsel for the petitioner and Shri Devendra Mohan Shukla, the learned Additional Chief Standing Counsel for the State.

2. By means of the instant petition, the petitioner has sought issuance of a direction for conclusion of inquiry in furtherance of the complaint dated 17.02.2025 submitted by the petitioner.

3. Learned Additional Chief Standing Counsel has stated on the basis of written instructions provided to him that an Inquiry Officer was appointed by means of an order dated 01.03.2025 and he was directed to submit a report within 15 days. It appears that on 02.08.2025, the Inquiry Officer has sought certain information from the Village Pradhan and Village Development Officer but it is not clear whether the information has been submitted by them or not and whether the delay has been occasioned because of default on the part of Village Pradhan and Village Development Officer or the Inquiry Officer himself. When the report has not been submitted, a reminder has been sent to the Inquiry Officer on 20.11.2025.

4. Accordingly, this petition is disposed off by issuing a direction to the respondent No.2- District Magistrate, Gonda to look into the matter personally and either ensure completion of inquiry by the Inquiry Officer already appointed or appoint a new Inquiry Officer and ensure completion of inquiry expeditiously. The District Magistrate shall also look into the cause of delay in non-furnishing a report by the Inquiry Officer.
