ORDER:-

Lakshmi Narayana, learned Standing Counsel appearing for respondent No.5 and learned Assistant Government Pleader for Revenue, appearing for respondent No.1.
2. Challenging the inaction of respondent Nos.2 to 4 in considering and disposing of the petitioners’ applications submitted in Form-8, dated 13.10.2026, filed for shifting of their electoral registration from Nellore City to Atmakur Town and the consequential modification of the particulars in the electoral-roll, the present Writ Petition has been filed.
3. Having regard to the nature of the grievance raised and the issues arising for consideration, this Court deems it appropriate to suo motu implead the ‘Election Commission of India (ECI)’ as a party respondent No.6 to the Writ Petition, so as to facilitate the effective consideration of the matter.

immovable properties therein. It is further contended that the 2nd petitioner intends to participate in the ensuing elections to the concerned local body at Atmakur Town and proposes to contest for the post of Member/Ward Councillor.
5. It is further contended that, for the purpose of shifting their electoral registration from Nellore City to Atmakur Town, the petitioners submitted applications in Form-8, dated 13.10.2026, seeking the requisite changes in their electoral particulars. Subsequently, the Andhra Pradesh State Election Commission issued the election notification dated 14.10.2026 for conducting of elections to the Urban Local Bodies in the State. The petitioners contend that their names continue to be reflected in Part No. 25 of the electoral rolls pertaining to Nellore City and are not duly reflected in the relevant electoral rolls of Atmakur Municipality. In view of the impending elections and the non-disposal of their applications, the petitioners have approached this Court by way of an instant Writ Petition.
6. Considered the submissions.
7. Having regard to the same, this Court deems it appropriate to direct the suo-motu impleaded respondent No.6, namely, the Election Commission of India, to consider the application of the petitioners dated 13.10.2026 and pass appropriate orders.
8. With the above directions, the Writ Petition is disposed. There shall be no order as to costs.
As a sequel, miscellaneous applications pending, if any, shall also stand closed. ______________________________ JUSTICE KIRANMAYEE MANDAVA Dated:16.10.2026 MVK
