Heard Sri Petluri Nagaraju, learned counsel for the petitioner, Sri N.Ashwani Kumar, learned Standing Counsel for the respondent Nos.3, 5 and 6 and Sri S.V.S.S.Siva Ram, learned Standing Counsel for the respondent No.4.

2. The grievance of the petitioner in the instant writ petition is against the inaction of the respondent Nos.2 to 5 in updating the petitioner’s name in the 28th ward electoral roll of the Vijayawada Municipal Corporation.

3. The petitioner submits that he is residing at D.No.41-10-25/A, 1st Floor, Kollavari Street, Krishnalanka, Vijayawada Urban, NTR District. He was earlier enrolled as Electoral Assembly Constituency of 87-Mangalagiri, Part No.99, Sl.No.473. thereafter he had shifted permanently to Vijayawada within the area of 81-Vijayawada East Assembly Constituency. In the said regard, he had submitted an application in Form 8 seeking transposition of his name from Mangalagiri to Vijayawada. The said application was accepted and processed approving enrollment in 81-Vijayawada East Assembly Constituency, Part No.186-Krishnalanka, Sl.No.1068. Proposing to contest in the ensuing Elections as a ward member of Municipal Corporation of Vijayawada, the petitioner has verified the electoral rolls relating to the Part No.186 of Vijayawada East.

4. However, the said list contains only up to Sl.No.1056. The subsequent enrollments/additions, transpositions have not been reflected.

Thus, the petitioner approached this Court by way of instant writ petition seeking a direction to incorporate his name in the electoral roll.

Having regard to the contentions advanced, as the application of the petitioner for transposition has already been processed and verified much and approved before the election notification as noted from the latest EPIC card, and as the petitioner contends that he is proposing to contest the ensuing local body elections, this Court deems it appropriate to dispose of the Writ Petition with a direction to respondent Nos.2 to 6 to pass appropriate orders forthwith to incorporate in the Municipal Electoral Roll the name of the petitioner as per the approved latest EPIC card bearing No.CPT2861201 downloaded on 16.09.2026.

6. With the above directions, the writ petition is disposed. There shall be no order as to costs.

As a sequel, miscellaneous applications pending, if any, shall also stand closed.
