Heard Sri B.Abhay Siddhanth Mootha, learned counsel for the petitioner, learned Government Pleader for Municipal Administration and Urban Development, Sri Gudapati Lakshminarayana, learned Standing Counsel for Municipalities and Sri N.Ashwani Kumar, learned Standing Counsel for APSEC appearing for the respondents.

2. The grievance of the petitioner in the instant writ petition is against the action of the respondents in removing the petitioner's name from the Electoral Rolls in respect of Ward No.28 of Kadiri Municipality and showing the same in Ward No.23, Kadiri Municipality, contrary to the electoral rolls published on 22.09.2026.

3. It is contended that the said deletion was effected without issuing any notice to the petitioner or calling for objections. The petitioner submits that the said action is in violation of the provisions of the Andhra Pradesh

Municipalities Act, 1965 & Andhra Pradesh Municipal Rules, 2001. Hence, the petitioner seeks a direction to the respondents to include the petitioner's name in the ward-wise photo electoral rolls of Ward No.28 of Kadiri Municipality at Sl.No.161-107-662.

Today, when the matter is taken up for consideration, learned Standing Counsel for Municipalities has placed before the Court a copy of the written instructions received from the Commissioner, Kadiri Municipality. A perusal of the same would reflect that the petitioners vote has been sifted from Ward No.28 to the appropriate Ward as the petitioner was not residing within the territorial limits of ward No.28

4. It is further submitted that the petitioner submitted a representation dated 07.10.2026 to the 7th respondent seeking rectification. As the said representation was not considered, the instant writ petition is filed.

5. Having regard to the contentions advanced, this Court deems it appropriate to dispose of the Writ Petition with a direction to the respondents to consider the representation dated 07.10.2026 of the petitioner and pass appropriate orders on the said representation. If, for any reason, the said representation is not able to consider before the scheduled election, the respondents shall allow him to vote as per the ward-wise photo electoral rolls as published on 06.10.2026, i.e., Ward No.23, Kadiri Municipality.

6. Accordingly, the Writ Petition is disposed of. There shall be no order as to costs.
