ORDER:
The present Criminal Petition is filed under Section 482 Cr.P.C., seeking to quash the proceedings in FIR.No.199 of 2019, dated 13.11.2019 Ponnur Rural Police Station, Guntur District. The said crime was registered for the offences under Sections 498-A IPC and Sections 3 & 4 of the Dowry Prohibition Act, 1961.
2. As all the offences are punishable with less than seven years of imprisonment, this Criminal Petition is disposed of directing the Police to follow the procedure prescribed under Section 35 Bharatiya Nagarik Suraksha Sanhita, 2023 and also the guidelines prescribed in Arnesh Kumar vs. State of Bihar1.
As a sequel, interlocutory applications pending, if any, shall also stand closed.
