The Court made the following ORDER:

The present Criminal Petition is filed by all the six Accused, under Section 482 Cr.P.C., seeking to quash the proceedings in FIR.No.33 of 2019 of Hindupur II Town Police Station, Ananthapuramu District. The offences alleged are Sections 323, 420, 498-A, 494, r/w 34 IPC, Section 156(3) Cr.P.C and Section 3 of the Dowry Prohibition Act, 1961.

2. As all the offences are punishable with less than seven years of imprisonment, this Criminal Petition is disposed of directing the Police to follow the procedure prescribed under Section 35 Bharatiya Nagarik Suraksha Sanhita, 2023 and also the guidelines prescribed in Arnesh Kumar vs. State of Bihar1.
