O R D E R:

This writ petition is filed declaring the action of the Respondents in not considering the case of the Petitioner for promotion to the post of Anganwadi Worker, Polepalle-II, Durgi Mandal, Palnadu District as illegal and arbitrary.

2. Petitioner was initially appointed as Anganwadi Helper, Polepalle-II vide proceedings No.142/A/2017, dated 18.05.2017. While so, the Anganwadi worker working in the same Anganwadi centre died on 21.05.2026 and the Petitioner is entitled to be considered to the said post being the senior most.

3. Learned Assistant Government Pleader for Women Development and Child Welfare Department submits that there are three centres in Polepalle Village i.e., Polepalle-I, II, III. It is further submitted that the criteria for effecting promotion as provided in G.O.Ms.No.5 Department for Women, Children, Differently Abled and Senior Citizen (Prog.I) dated 13.03.2026, should be adhered to. Learned counsel further submits that one Busani Krishna Kumari who is working as Anganwadi Helper in Polepalle-I Centre, is senior than the Petitioner and she is entitled to be considered as Anganwadi worker.

4. Heard Sri. Sridhar Tummalapudi, learned counsel for the Petitioner and learned Assistant Government Pleader for Women Development and Child Welfare Department.

6. G.O.Ms.No.5 dated 13.03.2026 provides guidelines for promotion of Anganwadi Helpers to Anganwadi Workers. Without going into the entitlement of the Petitioner that whether the Petitioner is senior most or not, the writ petition is disposed of directing the Respondents to effect promotion following G.O.Ms.No.5 dated 13.03.2026 in accordance with law. There shall be no order as to costs. As a sequel, miscellaneous petitions, if any, shall stand closed.
