This writ petition is filed seeking the following relief:

“…to issue a Writ, Order, or a Direction more particularly one in nature of Writ of MANDAMUS declaring the action of the respondents in not considering the representation dated 06.02.2023 of the petitioner for the appointment of any suitable post in the Respondent office by appraising the qualification of the petitioner on compassionate grounds as illegal, irregular, arbitrary, unjustified, contrary to the schemes provided regarding compassionate appointment and unreasonable and violative of Article 14 and 21 of Constitution of India, and direct the respondents to forthwith appoint the petitioner to a suitable post basing upon her qualification on compassionate grounds and pass…”

2. The grievance of the petitioner is that, pursuant to the death of the father of the petitioner on 21.10.2006, she made a representation dated 06.02.2023 seeking appointment on compassionate grounds. Petitioner contends that the said representation has not been considered by the respondents.

3. Though the respondents have filed counter-affidavit raising various objections regarding the claim of the petitioner, including a contention that an application for compassionate appointment had also been submitted by the son of the deceased. Without going into the merits of the case, this Court deems it appropriate to direct the respondents to consider the representation dated 06.02.2023 submitted by the petitioner and pass appropriate orders, in accordance with law, within a period of three (3) months from the date of receipt of a copy of this Court.

4. Accordingly, the Writ Petition is disposed of. There shall be no order as to costs.

As a sequel, pending miscellaneous petitions, if any, shall stand closed.
