ORDER:
This Criminal Petition, under Section 482 Cr.P.C., has been filed by the petitioner/Accused No.12, seeking to quash proceedings in C.C.No.29 of 1991 on the file of the learned Judicial Magistrate of First Class, Addatheegala.
2. On 04.05.2026, there was no representation on behalf of the petitioner and this Court directed the registry to verify whether C.C.No.29 of 1991 on the file of the Court Judicial Magistrate of First Class, Addatheegala is still pending or not.
3. Today, when the matter is taken up, there is no representation on behalf of the petitioner. As per the direction of this Court dated 04.05.2026, registry informed this Court that the case is still pending. As the learned counsel for the petitioner did not choose to appear, it seems that he is not evincing any interest in prosecuting the Criminal Petition.
4. In view of the above circumstances, this Criminal Petition is dismissed for default.
As a sequel, miscellaneous petitions, if any, pending in this Criminal Petition shall stand closed. __________________
