ORDER:

1. The present Writ Petition is filed questioning the action of Respondent No.3 in not considering the representations, dated 06.06.2026, despite availability of clear vacancies for effecting promotions to the Petitioners from the post of Office Subordinate to the post of Junior Assistant, as illegal and arbitrary.

2. The Petitioners were appointed as Office Subordinates on 22.05.2013, 05.12.2013, 22.07.2014 after due selection process and their probation was declared. It was submitted that the next available promotional post to the Petitioners is Junior Assistant and the vacancies of Junior Assistant are available in the office of Respondent No.3.

3. It was further submitted that the Respondent No.3 had addressed a letter to the District Collector seeking for permission to fill up the vacancies by promoting the qualified candidates from the cadre of Office Subordinate and the District Collector vide letter, dated 28.07.2025 had accorded permission to fill up the vacancies in accordance with the rules in vogue.

4. However, Respondent No. 3 has not taken any further steps in that regard, and as the Petitioners are aspirants for the said post of Junior

Assistant, had given representations on 06.06.2026 to Respondent Nos.3 and 4. As the same is not being considered, the present Writ Petition came to be filed.

5. Learned Assistant Government Pleader submitted that the representations given by the Petitioners would be examined and an appropriate decision would be communicated to them, as expeditiously as possible.

6. Considering the submissions, the Writ Petition is disposed of, with the following directions:-

(i) The Respondent Nos.3 and 4 are directed to examine the representations given by the Petitioners, dated 06.06.2026, in the light of the letter of District Collector, dated 28.07.2025 and to pass appropriate orders thereon, within a period of eight (08) weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order.

(ii) No order as to costs.

7. As a sequel, miscellaneous petitions, pending if any, shall stand closed. ________________________ JUSTICE NYAPATHY VIJAY
