1. VENKATESWARLU GADA Counsel for the Respondent(S):

1. GP FOR TRANSPORT The Court made the following:

Writ Petition No:13892 /2026 O R DE R:

The Writ Petition is filed questioning the action of the Respondents in not considering the case of the Petitioner for promotion to the post of Leading Hand ( “L.H”) as illegal and arbitrary.

2. The Petitioner was appointed as an Assistant Mechanic on 18.06.1991 at Podili Depot and thereafter promoted as a DC- Electrician Grade-I on 11.10.1997. The next available promotion for the Petitioner is 'Leading Hand'.

3. The grievance of the Petitioner now is that though the Petitioner is eligible for being appointed to the post of Leading Hand, the same is not being considered by the Respondent Authorities, and that persons who were juniors to the Petitioner were promoted.

4. Sri A. Rama Rao, learned Standing Counsel appearing for Respondent Nos. 2, 3, 4, and 5, on instructions, would submit that the case of the Petitioner would be considered for promotion to the post of Leading Hand in accordance with eligibility and seniority.

5. Considering the submissions made, the Writ Petition is disposed with the following directions:

i) The Respondent Nos. 2 to 5 are directed to consider the case of the Petitioner for promotion to the post of „Leading Hand‟ in accordance with the regulations in vogue within a period of six weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this Order.

ii) There shall be no order as to costs

As a sequel, the miscellaneous petitions, if any, pending in this Petition shall stand closed.
