2. The contention of the petitioner is that though there is a Criminal Case pending in C.C.No.381 of 2018 on the file of Additional Judicial Magistrate of the First Class, Sulluripet, on filing discharge petition by the petitioner, the petitioner was discharged from the offences punishable under Sections 417, 420, 415 IPC along with other accused. There are no departmental proceedings pending against the petitioner. According to the petitioner, he is eligible for promotion to the post of G.S.T.O and consequently he has submitted a representation to the respondents on 26.11.2025, but the same has not been considered so far. Hence, the present writ petition.

2. Learned Government Pleader appearing on behalf of the respondents submitted based on the instructions furnished by the Joint Commissioner (ST), Guntur-I Division, Guntur dated 23.02.2026. According to the said instructions, the promotion to the post of G.S.T.Os have been issued upto Sl.Nos.730 in the Integrated Seniority list of Senior Assistants of Zone-III. The petitioner’s Sl.No. is

738. At present, there are no vacancies available for promotion to the post of GSTO in Zone-III. However, the petitioner’s name will be considered for promotion to the post of GSTO, in accordance with the relevant rules when his turn arises as per seniority.

3. Based on the above said instructions, the writ petition is disposed of directing the respondents to consider the case of the petitioner for promotion to the post of GSTO based on the seniority, as and when the vacancy arises, if the petitioner is otherwise qualified and eligible. No order as to costs.

As a sequel, pending miscellaneous petitions, if any, shall stand closed.
