ORDER:

Sri K. Srinivas, learned counsel for the petitioners, submits that the petitioners own a specific extent of land in Sy.Nos.158/12, 158/13, 169/10, 189/7, 189/8 and 158/17 situated at Edigapalli Village, Bodevaripalli Gram Panchayat, Punganur Mandal, Chittoor District. The land was acquired by the respondents in the year 2017 for the purpose of laying National Highway No.42 (Madanapalle-Punganur-Palamaner Section). The grievance of the petitioners is that no compensation has been paid to the petitioners to date causing severe financial hardship.

On the other hand, learned Government Pleader submits that the petitioners failed to attend inquiry to prove their title to the land. Consequently, an award has been passed in accordance with the National Highways Act 1956. Learned Government Pleader further submits that once the title is proved upon verification of valid documents, compensation will be released to the petitioners.

In reply, learned counsel for the petitioners submits that the petitioners are willing to produce the title deeds and other documents before the competent authority, and requested to dispose of the writ petition.

In view of the above submissions, the Writ Petition is disposed of directing the petitioners to produce the valid documents before the

competent authority within a period of two (2) weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order. Upon such production of valid documents, the respondents shall verify the same and take appropriate steps for releasing the compensation in favour of the petitioners within a period of four (4) weeks thereafter. No order as to costs.

As a sequel, miscellaneous petitions, if any pending, shall stand closed.
