1. Affidavit of service filed in Court today is taken on record.
2. The petitioner participated in NEET-UG, 2026 and on being successful he was called for counselling. He participated in round one counselling and selected a medical college and took provisional admission therein.
3. Thereafter, he did not confirm admission in the said college and participated in the second as well as third round of counselling. He selected two dental colleges in the third round.
4. Submission of the petitioner is that the selection of the dental college was through private counselling agency. The dental colleges were inadvertently selected instead of the regular medical college.

5. Prayer has been made to permit the petitioner to participate in the stray round of counselling or to permit the petitioner to take admission in the initial college where he took provisional admission in the first round of counselling.
6. Learned advocate for the respondents opposes the submission of the petitioner.
7. It has been submitted that after the first round of counselling, the petitioner took provisional admission in the medical college and, thereafter, he did not confirm final admission. As the petitioner did not take final admission, the said college was shown to be vacant and added up in the main seat matrix where some other candidate selected the same and has already taken admission. The said college is no longer vacant for admission of the petitioner.
8. As regards participation in the stray round of counselling, it has been submitted that the same is permissible only in respect of candidates who did not take part in any of the previous rounds of counselling.
9. It has also been submitted that the authority is not concerned as to whether the candidate participates in the counselling process individually or through any private agency. The moment a college is selected, the same cannot be changed, at this stage.
10. Upon hearing the parties and on perusal of the documents annexed to the writ petition, it appears that the petitioner got three opportunities in the counselling process. The final one that the petitioner selected either himself or through his agency, is in respect of dental colleges. The earlier medical college where the petitioner took provisional admission is no longer vacant and there is no scope to permit the petitioner to take admission in the said college.
11. Accordingly, the relief prayed for by the petitioner cannot be allowed. The writ petition fails and is hereby dismissed.
12. Parties to act on the basis of the server copy of this order duly downloaded from the official website of this Court.
13. Certified server copy of this order, if applied for, be supplied to the parties upon compliance of all requisite formalities.
