In re: An Application for anticipatory bail under Section 482 of the Bharatiya Nagarik Suraksha Sanhita, 2023 in connection with Tarakeswar Police Station Case No. 261 of 2026 dated 01.06.2026 under Sections 126(2)/3(5)/308(5)/351(3) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita, 2023.

In the matter of: Sani Shaw

… … Petitioner

Mr. Abhra Mukherjee

Mr. Sauradeep Dutta

Mr. Arpayan Mukherjee

Ms. Himadree Ghosh

… … For the Petitioner

Mr. Ranjan Chakraborty

Mr. Deepak Khetawat

…For the State

Petitioner stands implicated for being in a racket of extortion. Plea that the incidents are of a continuous nature made by the petitioner in fact are to be construed as against the petitioner. Enlarging the petitioner on anticipatory bail is likely to affect the quality of the investigation in the facts and circumstances of the present case and will send a wrong signal to the society.

In such circumstances, I am unable to grant anticipatory bail to the petitioner and the prayer for anticipatory bail of the petitioner is rejected. The application being C.R.M. (A) 3469 of 2026 stands dismissed.
