……Petitioner.
Mr. Soubhik Mitter
Ms. Faria Hossain
Mr. Dipanjan Ghosh
……for the Petitioner.
Mr. Krishnendu Bhattacharya, Ld. APP Ms. Priti Kar Bagchi
……for the State.
Learned advocate appearing for the petitioner submits that only 196.428 Gms. of Brown Sugar were recovered allegedly from the present petitioner. There is no further possibility of recovery. As such, petitioner be released on bail.
State opposes the prayer for bail as petitioner was arrested on 07.08.2026 and charge sheet is yet to be submitted, however, investigation is continuing.
Having considered the initial seizure, some opportunity is granted to the petitioner to conclude the investigation within the statutory period. If no further recovery is effected learned Special Court would release the petitioner on bail on such terms and conditions as it deems fit and proper.
