In the matter of : Sanjit Biswas

… Petitioner(s)

Mr. Krishnendu Bhattacharya, APP Ms. Priti Kar Bagchi

… for the State-respondent(s)

None appears for the petitioner to pursue with the anticipatory bail application. Learned Additional Public Prosecutor appearing for the State submits that there are criminal antecedents of the present petitioner as also the accusations of extorting the money at the behest of the present petitioner. Having considered the same, I am of the view that this is not a fit case for granting anticipatory bail. Hence, the prayer for anticipatory bail of the petitioner is Rejected. Accordingly, CRM (A) 1763 of 2026 is dismissed.

Parties to act on a server copy of this order duly collected from the official website of the Hon’ble High Court, Calcutta. Urgent Photostat certified copy of this order, if applied for, be supplied to the parties subject to compliance with all requisite formalities.
