10.09.2026 Serial no. 18 [G.S.Das] Assistant Registrar (Court)

CRM (M) 1815 of 2026

In re : An Application for Bail under Section 439 of the Code of Criminal Procedure, 1973/under Section 483 of the BNSS, 2023 in connection with Jiaganj PSCase No. 171 of 2023 dated 08.07.2023 u/s 302/201 of the IPC .

-And-

In the matter of : Biswajit Mondal @ Biswanath Mondal @ Biswajit

… Petitioner(s)

Mr. Tapodip Gupta Mr. Suman Bhanja Ms. Usashi Chattopadhyay Mr. Golam Ahammed

… for the Petitioner(s) Mr. Parmananda Sharma, APP Mr. Rajesh Kr. Shah

… for the State-respondent(s)

Learned advocate for the petitioner submits that the petitioner is similarly placed as the other accused person who has been granted bail and is in custody for one year three months. Learned advocate for the State opposes the prayer for bail but is unable to refute the contention that the petitioner is similarly placed as the other accused who has been granted bail. Having considered that the petitioner is similarly placed as that of Sahadeb Mondal who has been granted bail in CRM (M) 891 of 2026, I am inclined to release the

2 petitioner on bail on the same terms and conditions as was imposed upon Sahadeb Mondal in CRM (M) 891 of 2026. Hence, the prayer for bail of the petitioner [Biswajit Mondal @ Biswanath Mondal @ Biswajit] is Allowed. Accordingly, CRM (M) 1815 of 2026 is allowed. Pending application(s), if any, is also disposed of. Parties to act on a server copy of this order duly collected from the official website of the Hon’ble High Court, Calcutta. Urgent Photostat certified copy of this order, if applied for, be supplied to the parties subject to compliance with all requisite formalities.
