2. This is a petition under Section 528 of the Bharatiya Nagarik Suraksha Sanhita, 2023 (hereinafter referred to as the BNSS) seeking quashing of FIR No. 562/2025, dated 21st August, 2025, registered at P.S New Usmanpur, Delhi under Sections 85, 316 (2) and 3 (5) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita, 2023 (hereinafter referred to as the BNS) and Section 4 of Dowry Prohibition Act, 1961, (hereinafter referred to as the Act) along with all consequential proceedings arising therefrom, on the basis of compromise arrived at between the parties.

3. The marriage between complainant (Respondent No.2 herein) and Petitioner no.3 was solemnized on 07.12.2023 as per Hindu rites and customs. No child was born out of the wedlock.

4. However, on account of certain matrimonial discords and differences, the parties started residing separately and living so from last two years. The complaint lodged by Respondent No.2, the abovesaid FIR was registered.

5. During the course of proceedings, the parties mutually and amicably resolved their disputes vide Settlement dated 03.08.2026 before the Delhi Mediation Centre, Karkardooma Court, Delhi. It is submitted that petitioner no. 3 and respondent no. 2, pursuant to said settlement, obtained divorce on 18.09.2026. The Petitioner No. 3 has paid the entire settlement amount of Rs. 4,05,000/- (Rupees Four Lakhs Five Thousand Only).

6. Petitioners and Respondent No. 2 are physically present before the Court and have been identified by their respective counsels as well as by the Investigating Officer SI Parveen Pannu, Police Station Usmanpur.

7. Respondent No.2 confirms that the matter has been amicably settled with the petitioners without any force, fear, coercion or pressure and she has received the entire settlement amount, therefore, she has no objection, if the FIR No. 562/2025 is quashed against the petitioners.

8. In view of the settlement arrived at between the parties, continuing with criminal proceedings would serve no useful purpose, especially, when dispute does not involve any public interest and is, primarily, private in nature. In any case, even the complainant does not wish to press any charges against the petitioners.

9. Accordingly, exercising inherent powers vested in this Court under

Section 528 of the BNSS, it is deemed appropriate to quash the instant FIR and the proceedings emanating there from bearing Criminal Case No. 658/2025 pending before the Court of the Ld. Ms. Neha Garg, JMFC (Mahila Court -02), North East, Karkardooma District Court, New Delhi.

10. Consequently, to secure the ends of justice, FIR No. 562/2025, dated 21st August, 2025, registered at P.S New Usmanpur, Delhi, under Sections 85, 316 (2) and 3 (5) of the BNS and Section 4 of the Act, along with all consequential proceedings emanating therefrom, is hereby, quashed.

11. Petition is allowed and disposed of accordingly.

12. Pending application(s), if any, also stand disposed of.
