2. This is a petition under Section 528 of the Bharatiya Nagarik Suraksha Sanhita, 2023 (hereinafter referred to as the BNSS) seeking quashing of FIR No. 4/2025, dated 08-01-2025, registered at P.S Model Town, Delhi under Sections 498-A, 406 read with section 34 of the Indian Penal Code, 1860(hereinafter referred to as the IPC) along with all consequential proceedings arising therefrom, on the basis of compromise arrived at between the parties.
3. The marriage between complainant (Respondent No.2 herein) and Petitioner no.1 was solemnized on 26-04-2024 as per Hindu rites and customs. No child was born out of the wedlock.

4. However, on account of certain matrimonial discords and differences, the parties are residing separately since 06-07-2024 and upon a complaint lodged by Respondent No.2, the abovesaid FIR was registered.
5. During the course of proceedings, the parties mutually and amicably resolved their disputes vide Settlement dated 25.10.2025 before the Delhi Mediation Centre, Tis Hazari Court, Delhi. It is submitted that petitioner no.1 and respondent no. 2 have obtained divorce on 24.03.2026 and the Petitioner No. 1 has paid the entire settlement amount of Rs. 3,50,000/- (Rupees Four Lakhs Five Thousand Only).
6. Respondent No. 2, alongwith her brother, is physically present before the Court. She has been identified by the Investigating Officer SI Akansha Chillar, Police Station Model Town.
7. Respondent No.2 confirms that the matter has been amicably settled with the petitioners without any force, fear, coercion and that she has received the entire settlement amount and has no objection, if the FIR No. 4/2025 is quashed against the petitioners together with other proceedings emanating therefrom.
8. In view of the settlement arrived at between the parties, continuing with criminal proceedings would apparently a futile exercise and serve no useful purpose, especially, when dispute does not involve any public interest and is, primarily, private in nature. In any case, when even the complainant does not wish to press any charges against the petitioners, then there appears no reason at all to continue with the proceedings.
9. Accordingly, exercising inherent powers vested in this Court under Section 528 of the BNSS, it is deemed appropriate to quash the instant FIR

and the proceedings emanating therefrom, as this is a fit case to invoke and exercise the inherent powers.
10. Consequently, to secure the ends of justice, FIR No. 4/2025, dated 08.01.2025, registered at P.S Model Town, Delhi, under Sections 498-A, 406 read with section 34 IPC, along with all consequential proceedings emanating therefrom, is hereby, quashed.
11. Petition is allowed and disposed of accordingly.
12. Pending application(s), if any, also stand disposed of.
