1. CRL.M.C. 2516/2026 has been filed seeking quashing of FIR No.1257/2024 under Sections 498A/406/509/34 of the Indian Penal Code, 1860 (IPC), registered on 24th December, 2024 at Police Station Mangolpuri, on the basis of settlement.

2. W.P.(CRL) 1095/2026 has been filed seeking quashing of FIR No.255/2025 under Section 354/354A/506/509 IPC registered on 23rd May, 2025 at Police Station Anand Vihar, on the basis of settlement.

3. Issue Notice.

4. Notice is accepted by the APP appearing on behalf of the State and the counsel appearing on behalf of the respondent no.2.

5. The respondent no.2 in both the petitions is the wife of Mr. Ravi Chandhok, who is the petitioner no.1 in CRL.M.C. 2516/2026, and the petitioners no.2 to 5 are his family members. W.P.(CRL) 1095/2026 has been filed by Mr. Dinesh Chandhok, who is the father-in-law of the respondent no.2.

6. The marriage of respondent no.2 and Mr. Ravi Chandhok was solemnised on 21st September, 2018 as per Hindu rites and ceremonies. A boy was born out of the wedlock on 28th September, 2023.

7. Matrimonial disputes arose between the respondent no.2 and Mr. Ravi Chandhok, which resulted in the filing of the present FIRs by the respondent no.2.

8. Counsel for the petitioners submits that the matter has been settled between the parties before the Delhi Mediation Centre, Karkardooma Courts, Delhi on 31st July 2025. In terms of the settlement, an amount of Rs.1 crore was payable by Mr. Ravi Chandhok to the respondent no.2. Out of the aforesaid sum, Rs.70 lakhs has already been paid to the respondent no.2. The balance amount of Rs.30 lakhs has been paid today in Court by way of a demand draft. The custody of the minor child is with respondent no.2/mother.

9. The decree of divorce dated 8th January 2026 has been placed on record.

10. The respondent no.2 is present in Court and has been identified by her counsel and by the Investigating Officer (‘I.O.’). She informs the Court that she has settled the matter of her own free will and without any coercion. She further states that she has no objection to quashing of the FIRs.

11. The petitioners are also present in Court and have been identified by their counsel. They affirm the statements of respondent no.2 in both the petitions and undertake to abide by the terms of settlement arrived at between the parties.

12. Considering the above settlement between the parties, there is no use continuing with the proceedings of the present FIRs, as it would be an unnecessary burden on the State exchequer. Hence, it would be in the interest of justice to quash the aforementioned FIRs and the proceedings pursuant thereto.

13. It is directed that the settlement executed between the petitioners and respondent no.2 as well as this order, shall have no effect on the rights of the minor child in the future.

14. Consequently, the FIR No.1257/2024, registered at Police Station

Mangolpuri, and FIR No.255/2025, registered at Police Station Anand Vihar and the proceedings pursuant thereto are quashed.

15. The petitions stand disposed of. AMIT BANSAL, J OCTOBER 12, 2026 Rzu
