09.10.2026 CM APPL. 70621/2026 (Exemption)

1. Allowed, subject to all just exceptions.

2. Application stands disposed of.

3. This writ petition is filed on behalf of the Petitioner under Article 226 of the Constitution of India seeking a limited direction to Respondent Nos. 1 to 3 to obtain the forensic/biometric verification report from CFSL Hyderabad, regarding the Petitioner and complete the verification process.

4. Issue notice.

5. Mr. Bhoumik Nayyar, learned SPC accepts notice on behalf of Respondents.

6. To the extent necessary, the facts are that Staff Selection Commission (SSC) issued notification in the year 2024-2025 inviting applications for recruitment to the post of Constable (General Duty) in CAPFs, SSF, Rifleman (GD) in Assam Rifles and Sepoy in NCB, outlining the eligibility criteria etc. Fulfilling the eligibility conditions, Petitioner applied and appeared for the Computer-Based Examination in February, 2025. On successfully clearing all stages of selection, Offer of Appointment dated 24.01.2026 was issued by the Respondent for recruitment to the post of Constable (GD) in CRPF.

7. It is stated that Petitioner reported at Group Centre, CRPF, Yelahanka, Bengaluru on 22.02.2026, as directed. Respondent No.3 served a communication dated 03.03.2026 on the Petitioner informing him that a biometric data mismatch was found during verification and hence, Petitioner was categorized as a suspected candidate, owing to which his appointment was deferred till the genuineness was verified by CFSL. By letter dated 20.04.2026, Respondent No.3 confirmed that Petitioner’s dossier was forwarded to CFSL, Hyderabad on 16.03.2026 for thumb impression and signature verification, however, despite passage of over six months verification report has not been received, compelling the Petitioner to file this petition.

8. Considering the limited relief sought in the present writ petition, this petition is disposed of, directing the Respondents to ensure that the forensic/biometric verification report in respect of the Petitioner is obtained from CFSL, Hyderabad within a maximum period of four weeks from today and verification process is completed at the earliest. Needless to state that Respondents shall send a communication to CFSL, Hyderabad to expedite the report, along with copy of this order for compliance.

9. It is made clear that this Court has not expressed any opinion on the merits of the case.
