None appears for the petitioners. Ms. R. Basar, learned State Counsel for the State respondents, is present. The matter pertains to the disqualification of the petitioners as Panchayat Members under the provisions of the Arunachal Pradesh Local Authorities (Prohibition of Defection) Act, 2003 The petitioners appear to have been elected as Panchayat Members in the 2020 Panchayat elections. Since the next Panchayat election has already been conducted in the year 2025, the matter appears to have become infructuous. Accordingly, the writ petition stands closed as infructuous.
