ORDER

Date : 12.10.2026

Heard Mr. J. Laskar, the learned counsel for the petitioner. Ms. M.D. Borah, the learned Standing Counsel appears on behalf of the IWT Department and Mr. K. Kalita, the learned counsel appears on behalf of the private respondent.

2. The present writ petition has been filed challenging the temporary settlement made in favour of the private respondent.

3. The learned counsel appearing on behalf of the petitioner submitted that in the meantime, the final settlement has been granted in favour of the respondent No. 4 against which a separate writ petition being WP(C) No. 5592/2026 has been filed. The learned counsel, therefore, submitted that the instant writ petition has become infructuous. The learned counsel, however, submitted that the records of the instant writ petition be tagged with the records of WP(C) No. 5592/2026, as the same would aid in the adjudication of the said writ petition.

4. Considering the above, the instant writ petition stands closed as infructuous.

5. The Registry shall, however, tag the records of the present writ petition with those of WP(C) No. 5592/2026.

6. Interim order, if any, stand vacated.
