ORDER
Date : 12.10.2026 Heard Mr. M. Talukdar, learned counsel for the applicant. Also heard Mr. S. Dutta, learned counsel for alleged contemnor No.1, Ms. R. Gogoi, learned counsel for alleged contemnor No.4 and Mr. T. Das, learned counsel for alleged contemnor No.5.
2. This is an application praying for impleadment of one Sri Jyant Narlikar, IAS, Commissioner and Secretary to the Government of Assam, Finance Department as contemnor/respondent in the accompanying contempt case being Cont.Cas(C)/151/2025.
3. The applicant has filed the contempt petition in Cont.Cas(C)/151/2025
alleging wilful and deliberate non-compliance of the Judgment and Order dated 25.07.2024 passed in WP(C)/7880/2022.
4. Having considered the above, this Court is of the view that Sri Jyant Narlikar, IAS, Commissioner and Secretary to the Government of Assam, Finance Department would be a necessary party in the contempt proceeding.
5. Accordingly, Sri Jyant Narlikar, IAS, Commissioner and Secretary to the Government of Assam, Finance Department, is allowed to implead as alleged contemnor No.6 in the aforesaid Cont.Cas(C)/151/2025.
6. This Interlocutory Application stands allowed and disposed of.
