ORDER
09.10.2026
Heard Mr. SC Das, the learned counsel appearing on behalf of the Petitioner. Also heard Ms. PR Mahanta, the learned counsel, who appears on behalf of Respondent No.1 and Mr. HK Hazarika, the learned Govt. Advocate, Assam.
2. The petitioner, in the instant writ petition is aggrieved by the rejection of the petitioner's application for settlement in terms of Mission Basundhara 2.0. It is relevant to take note of that Mission Basundhara 2.0 was a one-time scheme announced by the Government of Assam for easing the settlement of land.
3. It is also relevant to take note of that thereupon, another scheme was announced, i.e. Mission Basundhara 3.0, and at present, there is no particular scheme except applying through the Sewa Setu portal.
4. Considering the above, it is the opinion of this Court that the rejection of the petitioner's application for settlement in terms of Mission Basundhara 2.0 would not come in the way of the petitioner in applying for settlement of land, provided the petitioner qualifies in terms with Clause 14 of the Assam Land Policy, 2019.
5. In terms of the above, the writ petition stands disposed of.
