ORDER

Date : 08.10.2026

Heard Mr. T. Laskar, learned counsel appearing for the accused-applicant. Also heard Mr. M.P. Goswami, learned Addl. P.P., representing the State respondent.

2. This is an application under Section 483 of the BNSS, 2023, praying for granting bail to the accused-applicant in connection with Doboka Police Station Case No.

149/2026,

registered

under

Sections 112/308(6)/308(7)/317(4)/318(4)/319(2)/351(2)/351(3)/61(2)/3(5)/3(6)/3(8 )/3(9) of the BNS, 2023.

3. An FIR was lodged on 05.09.2026 before the Officer-in-Charge, Doboka Police Station, alleging that a set of touts and intermediaries, being persons who hold no office, exercise no authority, and carry no official qualifications of any description, had presented themselves as different professionals, and they were luring the general public for settling in their cases or threatening them to file cases, and have been involved in extorting money by the same modus operandi.

4. On receipt of the FIR, police registered Doboka P.S. Case No. 149/2026, under the aforementioned sections.

5. The learned counsel appearing for the accused-applicant submits that the allegations are totally vague, and there is no specific allegation against the accused- applicant in the instant case. He further submits that, owing to certain enmity between certain local persons of the locality, earlier a case was filed against certain persons, and they have implicated the accused-applicant in the instant case by making false statements before the police.

6. The TCR in the instant case has been received, and the same is perused by this court.

7. The learned Addl. PP has opposed the prayer for bail of the accused-applicant at this stage.

8. Taking into account the materials available in the TCR, this Court is not inclined to grant any relief to the accused-applicant at this stage. Accordingly, the instant bail application is rejected.

9. TCR to be returned. JUDGE
