ORDER

21.08.2026

Heard Ms. S. Roy, learned counsel for the petitioner; Mr. S.S. Roy, learned Junior Government Advocate, Assam for the respondent nos. 1, 2, 3 & 4; and Mr. S. Das, learned Standing Counsel, Assam Small Industries Development Corporation Limited [ASIDCL] for the respondent nos. 5, 6 & 7. In this writ petition instituted under Article 226 of the Constitution of India, the petitioner has assailed an Order of eviction no. KIDCC[IE]/7/2020-21/323-326 dated 14.08.2026 passed under the hand of the respondent no. 4. Mr. Das, learned Standing Counsel, ASIDCL has submitted that by an Office Letter no. KDICC[IE]/7/2020-21/380-383 dated 18.08.2026, the impugned eviction order has been cancelled and has placed a copy of the said Office Letter before the Court. As the Order of eviction no. KIDCC[IE]/7/2020-21/323-326 dated 14.08.2026 has already been cancelled, there is no surviving cause of action to proceed further with the present writ petition. The writ petition is, therefore, closed. JUDGE Comparing Assistant
