ORDER
21.08.2026
Heard Ms. S. Roy, learned counsel for the petitioner; Mr. S.S. Roy, learned Junior Government Advocate, Assam for the respondent nos. 1, 2, 3 & 4; and Mr. S. Das, learned Standing Counsel, Assam Small Industries Development Corporation Limited [ASIDCL] for the respondent nos. 5, 6 & 7. In this writ petition instituted under Article 226 of the Constitution of India, the petitioner has assailed an Order of eviction no. KIDCC[IE]/7/2020-21/311-314 dated 14.08.2026 passed under the hand of the respondent no. 4. Mr. Das, learned Standing Counsel, ASIDCL has submitted that by an Office Letter no. KDICC[IE]/7/2020-21/380-383 dated 18.08.2026, the impugned eviction order has been cancelled and has placed a copy of the said Office Letter before the Court. As the Order of eviction no. KIDCC[IE]/7/2020-21/311-314 dated 14.08.2026 has already been cancelled, there is no surviving cause of action to proceed further with the present writ petition. The writ petition is, therefore, closed.
