Date : 14-08-2026 Heard Mr. A.C. Buragohain, learned Senior Counsel assisted by Mr. S.A. Hazarika, learned counsel for the applicant and Mr. B. Bhuyan, learned counsel appearing on behalf of Mr. B. Gogoi, learned Additional Senior Government Advocate for the State respondents.
2. This is an application, seeking impleadment of Assam Science & Technology University.
3. The petitioner has filed WP(C)/1062/2026, seeking affiliation of the petitioner’s college to continue the B.Pharm & D. Pharm courses. The directions sought for includes the Assam Science & Technology University. However, the Assam Science & Technology University is inadvertently not arrayed as party- respondent.
4. Having considered the grievances raised in the connected writ petition WP(C)/1062/2026, and the prayer sought for includes the party sought to be impleaded, I deem it appropriate to allow this interlocutory application as the party sought to be impleaded would be a necessary party for proper adjudication of the matter.
5. Accordingly, this interlocutory application stands allowed.
6. Accordingly, the Assam Science & Technology University, represented by its Registrar, Tetelia Road, Near Assam Engineering College, Jalukbari, Guwahati, Assam, 781013, is allowed to be impleaded as respondent No. 6 in the connected WP(C)/1062/2026.
7. I.A. stands allowed and disposed of.
