ORDER

(31.07.2026)

1. The petitioner, through the medium of present petition, seeks quashing/cancellation of bail granted by the court of learned Principal Sessions Judge, Reasi vide order dated 19.02.2026 passed in File No. 18/2026 titled “Abdul Rashid & Anr. Vs. UT of J&K” whereby accused/respondents herein have been granted interim bail in a case arising out of FIR No. 16/2026 registered at Police Station Reasi for the commission of offences punishable under Sections 64, 127(2), 351(3) & 49 of BNS, 2023.

2. Since the order to which challenge has been thrown is an interim bail order and was upto 25.02.2026, the prosecution should have awaited to contest the matter before the trial court for final determination of the case, instead of filing the present petition, seeking to quash the order granting interim bail.

3. For the aforesaid reasons, the present petition is dismissed with liberty to the petitioner to contest the matter before the trial court.

4. Disposed of, accordingly.
