1. The order against which the contempt petition has been preferred required the respondent to compute the retiral benefits including GPF amount and release the same to the petitioner as expeditiously as possible.

2. The counsel for the petitioner submits that certain amount of GPF has been paid, however, the interest component is yet to be dealt with.

3. The counsel for the respondents also submits that a statement of fact has been filed on 14.09.2026, clarifying other aspects like subsistence allowance, interest, the amounts payable as arrears as per SRO 18 of 1998 and the amount in lieu of leave salary excluding the dies-non period etc. The counsel for the respondents submits that from their side they have complied with the order.

4. This Court on perusal of the statement of facts finds that the respondents have computed the retiral benefits of the petitioner and have come out with a stand which would not come within the definition of any kind of contempt of the order in question. However, this Court is of the opinion that in the statement of facts certain narrations may prejudice the petitioner and he may be required to assail the same in case he chooses to do so.

5. Thus, while closing the contempt petition and discharging the contempt notices, we give liberty to the petitioner to avail appropriate remedy against the remaining causes, if he chooses.
