JUDGMENT

1. This writ petition was instituted on 02.05.2025 when petitioner came to be taken into preventive detention custody for a period of one year on 07.04.2025.

2. During the pendency of the writ petition, the petitioner has served his full detention period without being able to obtain a timely adjudication of this writ petition.

3. In view of the efflux of time, nothing survives for further consideration in this matter, as such, the writ petition is rendered infructuous and the same is, accordingly, dismissed.

4. It is, however, directed that if the petitioner has not already been released from preventive detention pursuant to the expiry of the detention period, he shall be released forthwith provided he is not required in connection with any other criminal case or under any other valid order of detention.
