ORAL JUDGMENT

(PER: HON'BLE MR. JUSTICE T.P.VIVEKANANDA)

The petitioner claiming to be the father of the missing person viz., Rohan M., has filed this petition seeking for issuance of a writ of habeas corpus to the respondents to produce respondent No.5 before this Court.

2. On notice having been issued to the respondents, the learned State Public Prosecutor appearing for the respondent- State has filed a status report, narrating the events that have occurred from the date of respondent No.5 went missing i.e., on 05.08.2026 till the date of filing of the status report. The respondents have also stated at paragraphs No.25 and 27 regarding the steps taken to find out the whereabouts of the missing person.

3. It is also stated in the status report that in order to trace the missing person, the investigation is ongoing and all

necessary efforts would be made to trace the missing person and also to ensure safety and well being of the missing person.

4. From the status report, we find that the respondents have taken all necessary steps to find out the missing person and the further investigation is ongoing. We do not propose to keep this petition pending any more since we find that it is not a case of illegal detention of respondent No.5 and it is a case of missing of respondent No.5. Therefore, taking note of the status report, we close this petition for the present. The undertaking of the State that the investigation on the missing complaint will be carried forward is placed on record.

5. Accordingly, the writ petition (Habeas Corpus) is closed. Sd/- (ANU SIVARAMAN) JUDGE
