ORAL ORDER

(PER: HON'BLE MR. VIBHU BAKHRU, CHIEF JUSTICE)

1. The petitioner has filed the present petition, inter alia, praying that directions be issued to respondent No.3 (Deputy Director, Department of Mines and Geology) to consider the petitioner’s renewal application dated 15.10.2015 and his subsequent representation dated 16.07.2025.

2. The petitioner is essentially aggrieved by the delay in taking decision in respect of his application seeking renewal of quarry lease [QL 2423] over the land measuring 2 acres 10 guntas falling in Survey No.36 of Dasahalli Village, Devanahalli Taluk, Bengaluru Rural District.

3. The learned Government Advocate submits that a communication has already been sent to the Forest Department seeking clarification as to the status of the land, particularly whether it is a deemed forest. He submits that a decision shall be taken shortly.

HC-KAR

4. In view of the above, we direct the respondents to take a decision and communicate the same to the petitioner as expeditiously as possible, preferably within a period of eight weeks from date.

5. The petition is disposed in the above terms.
