ORAL ORDER

(PER: HON'BLE MR. JUSTICE D K SINGH) The present Writ Petition has been filed impugning the order dated 26.03.2025 passed by the National Consumer Disputes Redressal Commission, New Delhi in NC/FA/1097/2023 preferred by the respondent against the order dated 05.01.2022 passed by the Karnataka State Consumer Disputes Redressal Commission, Bengaluru.

2. The learned counsel for the petitioners submits that she is confining her arguments and challenge to the order passed by the National Commission only in respect of reduction of interest from 16% to 9%.

3. We find no ground to interfere with the impugned order, inasmuch as 16% interest on the awarded sum would be exorbitant. The National Commission has exercised its power as conferred under Section 51 of the Consumer Protection Act, 2019. We find no reason to interfere with the said order in exercise of the

HC-KAR

said jurisdiction and therefore, the Writ Petition stand dismissed.

4. In view of dismissal of the Writ Petition, pending interlocutory applications, if any, stand disposed of.
