The petitioner is an accused in Crime No.18/2024 of Excise Range Office, Palakkad. The above case is registered against the petitioner alleging offence punishable under Section 20(b)(ii)(C) of the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances Act (NDPS), 1985.

2. The prosecution case is that, on 06.03.2024 at 08.25 PM, at the entrance of the first platform of Palakkad Junction Railway Station, the accused was found in possession of 62.640 Kgms of Ganja. Hence, it is alleged that the accused committed the offence. The petitioner was arrested on 06.03.2024.

3. When this bail application came up for consideration, the counsel appearing for the petitioner submitted that the marriage of the petitioner’s brother is scheduled on 24.04.2025 and therefore, the petitioner may be given an interim bail.

4. If that be the case, the petitioner can file an application for interim bail before the jurisdictional court with supporting documents. If such an application is filed, the jurisdictional court will consider the same and after verifying the genuineness of the marriage, pass appropriate orders in it, in accordance with law. Granting liberty to the petitioner to file appropriate application before the jurisdictional court, this bail application is disposed of. Sd/- P.V.KUNHIKRISHNAN nvj JUDGE
