ORDER

The writ petition is filed seeking a direction to the respondent to dispose of the application filed by the petitioners in Na.Ka.Ta. 16/213-2023-A3 within a time frame fixed by this Court.

2. Heard the arguments of Mr.S.Ramasamy, learned counsel for the petitioner, and Mr.L.Siva, learned Government Advocate (Civil) appearing for the respondent. By consent, this writ petition is taken up for final disposal at the admission stage itself.

3. It is seen from the typed set of papers that the petitioners have filed an application before the respondent seeking cancellation of the patta issued in the name of third parties in respect of the properties situated in Survey Nos.33/6A, 33/7A, 33/7B, and 33/7C at Manavarayanenthal Village, Tiruchuli Taluk. Though the respondent has initiated proceedings in the above-mentioned proceedings, the enquiry has been kept pending for more than two years. Hence, the petitioners have approached this Court seeking appropriate relief.

4. The learned Government Advocate (Civil) appearing for the respondent would submit that the petitioners seek correction of the

UDR records. The enquiry by the Revenue Divisional Officer is over and the proposal has now been forwarded to the competent authority, namely, the District Revenue Officer, Virudhunagar, in Pa.Mu.A3/L16/213/2023 dated 31.05.2025.

5. In the light of the submission made by the learned Government Advocate appearing for the respondent, the competent authority, namely, the District Revenue Officer, Virudhunagar, is directed to consider the proposal forwarded by the respondent/Revenue Divisional Officer and pass final orders on its own merits and in accordance with law, within a period of twelve weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order, after issuing notice to the petitioners, the persons in whose names the patta presently stands, and other interested parties.

6. With the above directions, this Writ Petition is disposed of. No costs. 14.08.2026 NCC : Yes/No Index : Yes/No Internet:Yes skn Note : Registry is directed to communicate the order to the District Revenue Officer, Virudhunagar.
