-B E F O R E- HON'BLE MR. JUSTICE AHANTHEM BIMOL SINGH
05.11.2025
Heard Ms. Lekhakumari, learned counsel appearing for the petitioner and Mr. H. Samarjit, learned DSGI assisted by Mr. Nongdamba, learned counsel appearing for the respondents.
In view of the limited prayer made by the petitioner in the present writ petition and as agreed to by both the counsel appearing for the parties, the present writ petition is being disposed of at the motion stage itself.
At the outset, the learned counsel appearing for the petitioner submitted that the petitioner will be satisfied for the time being if the present writ petition is disposed of by issuing a simple direction to the Director, Regional Institute of Medical Sciences (RIMS), Imphal, to consider the representation dated 28.08.2025 +05'30'
submitted by the petitioner on its own merit and strictly in terms of the applicable rules/guidelines and to dispose of the same by issuing appropriate order within a stipulated period.
Mr. Kh. Samarjit, learned DSGI submitted that as the prayer made on behalf of the petitioner is confined to the consideration and disposal of the representation submitted by her, he has no objection in disposing of the this writ petition as prayed for on behalf of the petitioner.
Considering the submission made by the learned counsel appearing for the parties, this Court is of the considered view that it will be in the interest of justice to issue the following directions:-
The Director, RIMS, Imphal is hereby directed to consider the aforesaid representation dated 28.08.2025 submitted by the petitioner on its own merit and strictly in terms of the applicable rules/guidelines and to dispose of the same by issuing appropriate order.
The whole exercise should be completed within a period of 2 (two) weeks from the date of receipt of a certified copy of this order.
It is made clear that the aforesaid directions have been issued without touching on the merit of this writ petition.
With the aforesaid directions, the present writ petition is disposed of.
